With the Windows 10 Anniversary update now available, users have access to a plethora of handy new features. Some of these features allow greater interactivity with Android devices, most notably, the ability to receive those notifications that normally would register exclusively on your phone, on your computer as well, with the caveat that the Cortana app has to be installed.
To begin mirroring your notifications:
Once these steps are completed, you will have access to Cortana on your mobile device, opening a wide potential in terms of inter-device usage.
For instance, if you’ve misplaced your mobile device, your desktop’s Cortana is able to give you the phone’s location on a map, or even initiate a ring to assist you in finding the device. In addition to that feature, if you were to search for directions on a desktop device, those directions will automatically be transferred to the mobile app of your choice. For the forgetful user, reminders can be synced across devices as well, with photo compatibility now available on the Android device.
